@janole has created a new Twitter account whilst nominating #Gravity for the Mashable ‘Best Mobile User Experience’ award (or something sounding similar) – see #mashableawards.
Presumably because these days every app needs its own @ name, @GravityApp (my capitalisation) was born.
Being honest I haven’t yet looked to see if his nomination needs our votes or indeed whether votes or parallel nominations are accepted.
Don’t be lazy like me, why not give him YOUR support?

New #Gravity twitter account: @GravityApp
Posted in accounts, gravity, twitter with tags #Gravity #Gravityapp on October 29, 2010 by bazbt3Latest news
Posted in facebook, gravity, images, twitter with tags #gravity #gravityhelp, images, updates on September 30, 2010 by bazbt3This blog isn’t currently being maintained. Most of the information here is still relevant and worth reading for newcomers to the Gravity app.
@Janole has made some quite significant updates to the app since our last major edit, amongst them:
- A proper photo viewer, finally implemented! 100 images available to post.
- Back-to-top function. (Keyboard phones, press ‘space’. Keypad phones press ’0′. Touch phones, press status bar [only in fullscreen mode.])
If things continue at this pace we’ll have everything ‘fixed’ by Christmas.
I’m not picking a year.
Veni, vidi, vici (or not)
Posted in Uncategorized on August 1, 2010 by bazbt3After reviewing the amount of effort I put into work on this site and comparing it to the rewards I’ve gained from it, I decided to cease my volunteer support work for the Gravity App.
If you want to get help for what is a really great twitter (etc.) app for Symbian S60 mobile phones, keep looking around this site. Use the search box, look at the pages, read the blog entries … follow @janole, @mobileways, add searches for #Gravity and #Gravityhelp.
Hopefully ‘official’ Gravity app help will arrive soon.

Poll: do you want changes to the FAQs?
Posted in gravity with tags #gravity #gravityhelp on July 26, 2010 by bazbt3The poll is over. You have spoken. Here is the final result:
One big FAQ page with everything all in one place? 7.1% (1 votes)
Split into several pages but organised better, by topic? 71.4% (10 votes)
No change? 14.3% (2 votes)
Other: 7.1% (1 votes)
Total Votes: 14
So there it is, by an overwhelming majority you want better organisation for the FAQ pages. It shall be done. You might have to wait a while though, life must go on!
Twitter SSL certificate broken
Posted in accounts, gravity, twitter with tags #gravity #gravityhelp on July 14, 2010 by bazbt3Paraphrased from @janole’s tweets:
(Any confusing instructions have been lovingly inserted by this author.)
Twitter seems to be using a broken SSL cert again (like 2 weeks ago.) They are using the broken VeriSign cert again (or so it seems.) It’s “incompatible” with Symbian phones …
Install #Gravity build 6538 (install within the app or see this site’s updates page) and select “Accept” when you see a cert warning. If you’ve already got 6358, install the Verisign certificate when prompted by Gravity.
If that doesn’t work, go to https://api.twitter.com in your browser and install the certificate when prompted.
If even that doesn’t work, if you still see Network Error -39 in #Gravity, go to Phone Settings ->Security ->Cert. Mgmt. ->Trusted site.. and delete “api.twitter.com”. Open Gravity and start all over again.
You’ll still need build 6358. The above is a semi-permanent fix.
The bottom line: Twitter are aware of the problems and are in the process of doing something about it:
@twitterapi: SSL Issue – We are aware of an SSL issue on our API and are in the process of fixing it. This issue does not… http://t.co/eirUAYV
Twitter geotagging breaks with non-English language setting.
Posted in twitter with tags #gravityhelp, gravity on July 6, 2010 by bazbt3‘If you cannot geotag tweets via #Gravity anymore, switch your language back to “English” on Twitter.com as a temporary workaround.’ - Thanks @janole!
Here is a snippet of @janole’s ‘commentary’, in reverse order.
More than 8 images to post – coming soon?
Posted in gravity, images with tags #gravityhelp, gravity on July 2, 2010 by bazbt3Janole says he’s working on trying to get a quick alpha done to enable posting of more than 8 images from Gravity. This author has, right now, 684 photos on the E72, of which only the most recent 8 can be posted. This feature is one of the most frequently requested items.
New update, to #Gravity 1.31.6538
Posted in gravity with tags #gravityhelp, gravity on July 1, 2010 by bazbt3It’s http://bit.ly/6538ALL – only a temp. fix for the 7548 certificate error, caused by Twitter breaking again (sorry to be so technical.) #Gravity will now ask to accept “unknown” certificates …
Update 1: now Twitter has fixed the problem there is no need to Install this build!
Update 2: install it if you get the ‘Network-3005 error.’ I did for temporary relief. However it failed again with ‘Network -3005 error’, something I’ve not seen before.
Update 3: forget it, I don’t know what to do. Either Twitter or Gravity is broken. All I can suggest: change authentication to Proxy/Secure for a bit. You are on your own. Revert back to 6532 like I did to be able to tweet again.
